VARIETY SOFT TOSS DRILL

ooNPURPOSE:   To enhance hand eye coordination, improve bat speed, and work on overall swing mechanics all while executing a super fun drill!

EQUIPMENT:  Any type of ball (and lots of them)

SET-UP:   Player will take stance at plate and prepare to hit soft tosses given by coach.   Player can hit into a net/fence or out into the open field.

EXECUTION:
Coach soft tosses a variety of balls to the hitter.  These balls could include:  baseball, tennis ball, racquetball, whiffle ball, volleyball, soccer ball, mini ball, basketball, etc.  Each toss the hitter concentrates on making good contact and accelerating through the ball.

COACHING TIP:  Hitters will absolutely love this drill, it will be even more fun for them if they hit the various balls out into the field so they can see the difference in how far/hard each ball goes.

" A few years ago I was trying to come up with some new drills to run at my baseball camps, as I was looking throughout my garage I noticed a variety and plethora of different style balls.  I decided to allow hitters to try hitting all of them, and was this drill ever a HIT!  Players were begging for one more round of variety soft toss."
