BABASIC MECHANICS

PURPOSE:  To simplify and teach developing pitches the basic mechanics of pitching.

EQUIPMENT:  Mound/Rubber

SET-UP:  Pitcher should take the rubber and prepare to go through the proper steps of the basic mechanics.

EXECUTION:  When teaching developing pitchers, a simple starting point to teach basic mechanics is to break the wind-up in to 4 parts: Rock, Pivot, Balance, Throw.    These basic mechanics will be explained via video soon!

MODIFICATIONS:  Pitchers can also practice basic mechanics from the stretch position.  This would include feet apart/hands apart, feet closer/hands together in set position, pause, balance, throw.

COACHING TIP:
Have pitchers attempt this with their eyes closed.  As pitchers are able to execute the windup with closed eyes, they are becoming consistent and comfortable in their mechanics.
